The Heart of Cary Association will be partnering with Amtrak and the Town of Cary to host National Train Day at the Downtown Cary Railroad Station at 211 North Academy Street in Cary on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 10 AM to 2 PM. The North Carolina Railroad Company is giving out free train whistles for the first 200 kids and Amtrak will be handing out conductor hats to everyone!

Kids activities include the Balloon Pirate and Face Painting Princess and Amtrak will be offering railroad coloring books and crayons. The National Model Railroad Association  will have  a display inside the station for all to admire and a hands on table will be also be available for the kids to play with.  Children will also be able to make train items thanks to the Cary Creative Center.
