The renovation of Downtown Cary is well underway with the Cary Theater expected to be completed in the Fall of 2013. The property was once Cary's first indoor movie theatre, which hosted live performances and movies. At one point in time it was an auto parts store, recording studio and clothing store. Upon completion, the facility will be utilized as a flexible performance space. It will serve as additional theatre space and a specialty movie venue, including showing the Cary Youth Video project.  In addition, the new Cary Theater will showcase music performances, host stand-up comedy, and promote improvisation.  Design includes 181 seats, including 6 accessible seating locations.

A three story building adjacent to the Downtown Cary Theater is planned to compliment the space with the first floor containing nearly 900 square feet to support a light food service tenant, such as a wine bar, coffee bar, or ice cream and the second and third stories available for lease.
