Willow Springs is located south of Raleigh and north of Angier and is a town with a population of 11,576 as of the 2007 census.  Today, there is still controversy as to whether or not there are two Willow Springs.  The town center orginally located in Wake County (98%) and has 2% in Johnston County.  The confusion as to whether the town is Willow Spring, NC or Willow Springs becomes quite apparent when you visit the town and see signs with both names.  The census report calls the town Willow Spring with no 's'.

Willow Spring is known as a town with friendly people and that small town charm.  Some of the historical sites in Willow Spring include The Frank and Mary Smith House, and the Turner and Amelia Smith House, both built in 1880.
